The Eagles have a great shot at starting the season 4-0, and anything short of a 3-1 start should cause concern. Philadelphia opens up in Brazil on a Friday night, and then they’ll get nine days of rest before hosting Kirk Cousins and the Falcons in a winnable Monday night contest at Lincoln Financial Field. Weeks three and four are the backend of three straight AFC South matchups, with the game at Tampa likely to provide a defining moment for the Eagles after the 32-9 wild card beatdown in the same stadium.

Philadelphia will have a bye in Week 5, and then they’ll have another four games, which on paper looks promising for a group that still could be trying to find its footing on offense. Week 6 sees an intriguing matchup against a Browns defense that’s among the NFL’s best. Week 7 offers Saquon Barkley’s first trip back to MetLife Stadium to face his former teammates in the New York Giants. The first Giants matchup screams trap game, and it’s penciled in between a gigantic matchup against Joe Burrow and the Bengals. Philadelphia gets another tough, but winnable matchup in Week 9 when Doug Pederson returns to the Linc for the second time as coach of the Jaguars.

The season’s third quarter is sneaky difficult and could be the toughest stretch. Week 10 sees the first of two monster matchups against Dallas, with this one being at AT&T Stadium, a house of horrors for Philadelphia’s current signal-caller. A two-team race in the NFC East takes shape this afternoon, with Kellen Moore (OC) and Jalen Hurts (QB) having something to prove. Week 11 is a home matchup on a short week against a Washington team that should be much improved. It will also have a rookie quarterback (Jayden Daniels) who could give the Eagles problems with his dual-threat ability. Week 12 will see Philadelphia return to SoFi Stadium for another potentially explosive matchup against the Rams. It’ll be the final time the Eagles get on a plane in 2024 while sandwiched between a physical matchup against Baltimore. After spending Thanksgiving with the family, the Eagles take a short trip to Baltimore to face Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry, and the talented Ravens. This is the one four-game stretch where a 2-2 record wouldn’t be the worst outcome.

The fourth quarter offers Philadelphia some breathing room and a chance to finish the season positively and efficiently. In Week 14, what should be an improved Panthers team will head to Lincoln Financial Field looking to play the role of spoilers. Week 15 is a physical home matchup against the in-state rival Steelers. Russell Wilson and Justin Fields could be at the center of Pittsburgh’s offense. Week 15 has Philadelphia heading to Washington for a road matchup, a week before a gigantic game against Dallas. Week 17 should be for the NFC East title, and it’ll be cold, and the Linc should be rocking. Week 18 allows Saquon Barkley another shot at the Giants, and it could be an irrelevant contest based on how Week 17 finishes.
