Last fiscal year, the library had over 275,000 visitors.

The library continually adds new materials, and over 19,000 were added last fiscal year. In preparation for the new building, non-fiction and encyclopedia sets were added, as well as a phonics set. Additionally, new youth Hindi and Chinese collections were started (although Chinese books haven’t arrived yet).

Yes, our Family Place area will soon be enhanced with more items, such as a play kitchen, puppet theater and more.

The Reading Tub (formerly known as the “Red Tub”) is here! In case you haven’t heard, our beloved tub got a new makeover! Over the years, the tub has been a staple in our library at 216 Main St. and has made a comeback at the new library on 200 E. Liberty Ave.

You may notice that the color has changed, too, to align with the library’s new branding colors. We are happy to announce the Reading Tub is here to stay! Check it out on the 2nd floor near the stairwell (behind the elevator).

The original design intent of the cafe was to include a Briggo robotic, fully-automated barista. During the construction phase of the project, the company was acquired and their business model changed. The library design had to pivot as well and this provided an opportunity for the Friends book nook. The Cafe provides space for patrons to enjoy food and beverage while supporting the Friends of the Library. The library does not have future plans to install a coffee service. Instead, we recommend patrons support local businesses in downtown and visit one of the neighboring coffee shops.
