Chelsea, 19 lessons with PatriceMy son has only had a couple sessions with Patrice, and I am impressed with her patience. I also feel she has done a good job meeting him where he is at and selecting work accordingly, which makes the sessions less stressful for him, thus increasing his ability to learn. We look forward to more sessions with her.

Inspired by a family of educators, I have always had a life-long desire to learn and to make a difference in another's life. Hence, It gives me great pleasure to know that I can assist in making learning fun as well as a valued asset for students of all ages. My passion and my drive to help others be successful academically are definitely gifts from God!
What makes me an outstanding tutor is that I have a passion for what I do. I'm even-tempered, patient, reliable, invested, and very thorough. In addition to proofreading essays, I have also had a great deal of experience with proofreading dissertations written in various required formats (i.e. MLA Turabian Chicago Style, etc.). Therefore, in terms of proofreading, throughout the thirty-two years of teaching, I have in some capacity assisted students with their writing, proofreading, and/or editing of their papers.
I have an extensive background in education throughout my 32 years of teaching within the public and private school systems, in addition to being a private tutor to many primarily on the weekends, regardless of the client's age. I have earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Secondary English Education, a Master of Science Degree in Reading, a Master of Arts Degree in School Leadership, and a Doctoral Degree in Higher Education. I have also been a mentor to several former students who have chosen a career in either Education, Divinity, Nursing, Business, and/or Law Enforcement.
Should you desire to develop your grit even more and accomplish academic feats you never thought you could accomplish, then you've considered an excellent tutor tailored to your needs! My time is yours. Let my words and the receptiveness of those words by you move you to step out in faith in full confidence that you've selected a winner. Looking to hear from you soon.

My background in the teaching of reading spans several years. I have been the executive director of a reading clinic for many years. As a result of administering a diagnostic reading test, we catered to the literacy needs of clients, prepared extensive reports regarding specific reading deficiencies, and suggested interventions that could be used to enhance reading skills at home and at school.

For several years, as a high school English teacher, I have taught sophom*ores, juniors, and seniors strategies to use when taking the ACT English subtest in addition to recommending several sites which would help the student's proficiency with taking the ACT English subtest. Training from Cambridge as well as other test preparation companies shared valuable information regarding ways to assure one would raise his/her score. It is just a matter of being familiar with the type of questioning, the ability to pay attention to detail while reading, and the application of accurate grammatical skills based upon key grammatical rules one has learned over the years in English. Be proactive and get the added exposure and practice your child needs now!

Great 1st Meeting
My granddaughter tells me that her first session was wonderful. She's looking forward to next week. We are praying that her tutor can get a handle on the areas where she needs the most assistance. Ms. Patrice, in only an initial meeting, has already given her the spark she needs to get on and stay on track.
