Edible Cookie Dough Bites

I am a wee bit cookie dough obsessed. I mean, I could eat these bites for breakfast, lunch, snack or dessert after dinner. I just can't get enough of them!

These tasty small bits of cookie dough are sweet and full of chocolatey and buttery goodness making them the perfect snack that the whole family will devour!

The taste and texture of these chocolate chip cookie dough balls are superb and undoubtedly good; no question about that.

The Taste: The taste is much like myButter Crunch Cookiesrecipe, so rich, buttery and not too sweet.

The Texture: The texture of these bite-size treats is smooth, not too soft, and has a bit of crunchy from the chocolate chips.

The holiday season is just around the corner, and you are probably thinking of what better treat to give your family members.

My trick to make these cookie dough bites more colourful and fun for holidays is to replace chocolate chips with Smarties or M&M's.

Why Bake The Flour?

I bake the flour to make sure it is free from any bacteria and to not eat it raw, as we will not bake these bites.

Personally, I bake it in a preheated oven at 350 F/ 180C for 5 minutes. However, you may microwave it on high for 1-2 minutes if this is easier for you.

Why We Love This Recipe

  • Quick and easy recipe to follow, need I say more about this? You just pretty much have to combine the ingredients in a bowl and wait for it to harden a bit in the fridge. How simple is that?
  • This recipe is a budget-friendly recipe that only requires you 5 ingredients to finish the whole thing!
  • This dish might be a simple one, but the taste does not compromise. It is sweet, chocolatey, and so delicious.

What's In This Edible Cookie Dough Bites Recipe?

  1. All-purpose Flour. You can use wheat flour or gluten-free flour instead of all-purpose flour.
  2. Butter. Butter gives a little moisture and flavor to your cookie dough. You may use vegan butter if you want.
  3. Brown Sugar.I like to use brown sugar because it gives the bites a soft texture and a delicious flavour because of the presence of molasses. However, you can always substitute for white sugar or even your favorite sugar substitute.
  4. Vanilla Extract. My flavoring enhancer.
  5. Chocolate Chips. Chocolate chips give a sweet, crunchy texture to your cookie dough bites. I used regular chocolate chips. However, the mini ones will be cute; I didn't have them on hand, so I used the regular ones.

Variations & Substitutions

  • Combine your milk chocolate chips with white chocolate chips to give your dish a little extra taste.
  • Add some nuts, such as walnuts, pecans, or macadamia nuts, to your dough.
  • If the dough is too sticky to roll into balls, you can add 1-2 tablespoons of flour.

Top Tips!

  • Make sure that the measurements for your all-purpose flour are correct before mixing it with the rest of the ingredients. Just like in baking cookies, too much or too little flour in this recipe will result in a bad texture.
  • When you're adding the butter to the batter, make sure it's not completely melted. The addition of melted butter will make the mixture extremely sticky, making it difficult to roll into balls.
